SwapYard is a noticeboard that lets independent merchant outlets list surplus or aged stock for other outlets to buy, and post requests for stock they're looking for. SwapYard connects outlets to each other. It does not process payments, arrange delivery, or take a commission on any transaction.
Access is limited to independent merchant outlets. By registering, you confirm the details you provide are accurate and that you have the authority to list stock on behalf of your outlet.
You may optionally set a buying group on your account, and choose to make a listing or request visible only to outlets in the same one. A group you claim is reviewed before it unlocks group-only sharing, both for viewing others' group-only content and for restricting your own. Setting or verifying a buying group does not mean that group has endorsed, partnered with, or is in any way affiliated with SwapYard. It is simply a filter you can use to control who sees what you post.
You're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity under your account. Let us know if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
We'll always email you important account and service notices, such as password resets or billing confirmations. Beyond that, we may also contact you directly by email about new SwapYard features, platform updates, and related sister sites we run under the same operator, such as TradeYard or StockYard. You can opt out of these at any time by emailing hello@swapyard.ie, this won't affect essential account or service emails.
You're responsible for the accuracy of anything you post, including descriptions, condition, quantity, and price. SwapYard does not inspect, verify, or guarantee any stock listed on the platform.
Once contact is made through a listing or request, any deal, including price, payment, condition, and delivery, is agreed and carried out directly between the outlets involved. SwapYard is not a party to that transaction and is not responsible for disputes, damaged or misdescribed stock, non-payment, or delivery issues arising between outlets.
Listings and requests reflect the claims made by the outlet that posted them. SwapYard does not verify these claims and does not act as agent for either outlet in a transaction. Nothing on SwapYard should be read as a representation, endorsement, or guarantee made by SwapYard about any listing, request, or outlet.
SwapYard may introduce an access fee for outlets using the platform. Any such fee, and its terms, will be communicated directly to outlets before being applied. Nothing will be charged without notice.
You can cancel your subscription at any time through the Billing page, which takes you to a self serve billing portal. Cancelling stops future renewal charges, but access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for. Fees already paid are non refundable, except where required by law.

If you believe a listing or request breaches these terms, you can report it directly from the listing or request page. Reports are reviewed by an administrator, who decides what action, if any, to take. We don't guarantee a specific outcome or timeframe for any report, and repeated false or malicious reports may result in your own account being suspended.
You keep ownership of the photos and descriptions you post. By posting them, you give SwapYard permission to display them on the platform for other outlets to view.
We may suspend or remove an account or listing that breaches these terms, misuses the platform, or is inactive.
If your use of SwapYard, including any listing, request, or dealing with another outlet, results in a claim, loss, or cost to SwapYard, for example due to fraud, misrepresentation, a breach of these terms, or a dispute with another outlet, you agree to cover those reasonable costs. This does not apply where the claim results from our own breach of these terms or our own negligence.
SwapYard is provided as is. We don't guarantee the platform will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we're not liable for losses arising from stock quality, deals made between outlets, or platform downtime. Where a court does not accept a full exclusion of liability, our total liability to you under these terms is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect the latest version.
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the courts of Ireland have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
